Day 1, 12 Dec 2011, 前往宜兰
We took Eva airlines for the first time. The in-flight entertainment system was average, because there weren't any Ayu or Jay Chou songs to listen to. I mostly listened to Taylor Swift, MJ and Simple Plan's latest albums.

The Eva air stewardesses woke me up from my flight-induced slumber several times with their sonorant chirpy voices. When the time came for food to be served, they even donned pink-and-white checkered aprons o_o. The 虾仁炒饭 that we ate was surprisingly tasty. (Interruption: Taiwan news just reported that tickets for Girls' Generation's Singapore concert were sold out in just 4 hours. 4 hours very short meh? I saw excerpts of their concert -they need to brainstorm for stuff other than the giant box act. I mean, who or what else could be inside the giant box on the middle of the stage than GG themselves...? Seriously, people who haven't watched Ayu's concert haven't seen anything at all! Yeah go ahead and be offended! Kthxbai =P)
After around 4 hours of flying in an angry silver bird, we took a coach to 台北车站. The ride took an hour or so and I fell asleep listening to Jay Chou songs. I haven't fallen asleep with the music still playing in a long, long time. This would happen many more times when we travel from one place to another during this trip =).

We had some food to fill our stomachs at the Breeze Mall in Taipei Main Station.

Beef noodles

Milk tea
Took another coach to 礁溪,宜兰, where our hotel is located. We're in the comforts of 冠翔世纪温泉会馆 Guan Xiang Century right now, surrounded by many places advertising their hot springs. Guan Xiang has a peaceful feel to it and I'm eager to sample the breakfast and pay a visit to the hotel's outdoor hot springs tomorrow!
Here are some pictures of the hotel!

We headed out to the streets for a while. Everyone took an umbrella from the rack outside the hotel as there was a light shower.

We had 油条 and 花生仁汤 from a roadside stall not far from the hotel for reasons unknown to me. The latter was fine, but the former might have been left out in the cold for some time as every portion broken off it caused a crunchy explosion of sorts. Felt like we were chomping on some fried cracker.

Then we returned to the hotel. I've just bathed!
After cleansing myself of microscopic grime, I went to soak myself in the trench! The warm water did not really relax my muscles or lift my spirits -I guess it wasn't hot enough. In fact, I felt lilliputianly light-headed.
Things took a turn for the better. Instead of just soaking myself meaninglessly in the water, I thought of brushing my teeth at the same time to see if I could hold the toothpaste within the confines of my mouth and prevent a fluoride spill in the water.
Then a natural instinct took over and flushed the previous idea out of my head. I flipped myself over and started freestyle kicking. Shortness has its advantages after all. Suddenly, the water became choppy and a mysterious sensation washed over me. I stood up from the trench, walked towards the mirror and saw in the reflection a green trident glowing and swivelling majestically above my head. Seeya all you kids of Hermes!
Didn't sleep well at all that night. My bro kept tossing and turning on the other side of the bed like he was a construction worker in his dreams and the sudden noises and movements got increasingly irritating. Sigh.
When morning came, I was rudely awoken by a cacophony of handphones vibrating madly against the the glass surface of a desk and blaring their tones all at once. From then on, my ears caught the sounds of footsteps, blankets shuffling, doors closing, the sharp crushing of plastic bags and so on.
Well that sure is a crappy way to start a new day. But what can I do my ears have become extra-sensitive so that I might hear better in water. Muahaha. (Non-readers of Percy Jackson I'm not sorry that the joke is lost on you ^^)
